SAC Credentialing II

Department(s)

Description

This course is the second in a series designed to give students knowledge of fundamental topics aligned to the New York State school-age care (SAC) credential. The New York State Network for Youth Success administers the New York State SAC Credential, which promotes quality services to children and families by providing specific standards, training, and evaluation for afterschool professionals. Earning the credential is a way to build your skills and ensure eligibility for certain roles in registered and licensed child care programs. By completing this course, you will earn three credits toward your degree or certificate, and you will complete the course work and advisement requirements for the SAC credential. This class will be built around advisor observations, coaching sessions, peer problem-solving and completing a portfolio. You will work with an advisor to help you assess and build on your strengths as well as identify areas in which you need to grow. In this course you will have the option of completing the SAC credential process with an external endorsement.
